Welcome Traveler,
If you have come here then you are curious about May Dragons Fly. Hopefully we can answer some of those questions.

Goal

May Dragons Fly is a Casual Raiding Guild. Meaning, we do enjoy Raiding but with very little of the "Hardcore" nature most have come to know and expect from various MMO's. We believe you come for the game you stay cause of the community.

Our door is open to those that wish to progress to end-game content but at a fun pace with as less stress possible to get there. We always aspire to raid 3 times a week in 25man content, without a Raid Attendance policy. Please bear in mind that we do this in acknowledge our members to act and be adults Also we expect all our raiders to be knowledgeable about the content scheduled and their role in it.

Membership

Application

We ask that those interested in MDF fill out an application. All applications will be reviewed by our Officers based on Class Openings, Social Affiliation (i.e. friend, family, etc) and followed by an in-game interview. By doing this process we can find out if MDF is the right fit for you and your goals.

One thing that will be looked at when you apply at MDF is going to be your gear score.  It will be required that you have a gear score of no less then 2100 for raiding.  If you do not know your gear score go to www.wow-heroes.com and get your gear score.  Make sure you put that in your ap.  If you do not then your ap will be rejected.

If you are under the age of 16 you MUST have a parent or other member that has no less then a Knight status and is no less then 18 years of age,  that you know personally vouch you in.  If your parent gives his/her consent it must be done verbally in vent in order for you to join, or you MUST personally know the officer.  (This is not an I have run with so and so ect.)

Currently the minimum level requirement is 80 for all those that wish to raid and/or  a level of 75 to join and be part of the group. However this can change with little to no notice*got to love expansions*.Also case by case situation do occur; Family, friends, etc. All those will be reviewed by officers. We have a rank designated for those that wish to only chat in guild currently due to Real life situation acceptance is limited.

Alt not allowed in guild until a member has received Knight Status. Please refer to the Guild Ranking Section Below

Conduct

Members of May Dragons Fly are expected to reputable in guild chat and out. We believe you are the face of the guild. So in that regard, we ask that you not only have respect for yourself but your guild family as well.

If at any moment you feel you have been wrongfully accused within or out of guild. Please log the accusation chat and send it to an officer.

Forums/Ventrilo

Forums are used for discussion.  Keep all guild related discussion in the proper forums and/or sub forum. When posting  please be mindful of the tone and subject matter of the discussion. You cannot see facial expression or hear voices on Forums. ^_-

Ventrilo is another matter. It is encouraged that all members use ventrilo for heroics, raiding, or general chatting. We understand that most use some "colorful" word in their vocabulary. However if you are asked to "tone it down" please do so with respect to your fellow guildies. Should an issue arise from this please contact an officer.

Groups

Members are encouraged to group with one another whenever possible. Whether for special events, pvp or 5mans.  If/when a members asks in guild, respond promptly to the offer. Do not expect personal invites.

Invitations to raids will be given by the Raid Leader or perspective role leader during the raid. When showing interests please have knowledge of the content, Flasks, Food and are ready for invite. If you have not received an invite and you have the accepted invite on in-game calendar before the day of the raid,  contact the raid leader and/or your role leader privately.

There are still chances that you will not  receive an invite. Please understand that it is not because you were overlooked or not acknowledged. It could be for several reasons, least of all lack of communication. Even though raid spot are guarnteed, the raid leader goal is to make a balance and fair raid from those that shown preparedness and initiative.

Ranks

Grand Knight- Enforces the rules set forth and agree upon by members. Help with organization of raids, bank, guild events, etc. Main Face of the guild. Is example of the ideals and focus of the guild to those that ask. Keep in contact with allied guild(s) and help organize joint events.

-See knight for other duties.

Knight Commander
- Assist in the daily organization of events of the guild.  They are also representing the guild whether it is pugs, pvp, raiding, etc.

-See knight for other duties.

Knight Council - Also assist with the daily organizational duties.  However they are expected to help lead raids, provide help to guild members, able to schedule events, etc.

-See knight for other duties..

Knight JAG
- This is one to help have an objectionable perspective of many situations. This rank does only that. If in case of a tie among the other officer this one will break it.  Also the JAG is responsible for being the voice of the guild in officer chat if it seems this as not been viewed properly by the other officer. Guild bank access is no different than a Knight ranking. See Knight for other duties...

Knights - They are the face that most see. The better gear you have the more you are looked at and expected to perform in a fashion matching the difficulty of getting the gear. We expect knights to be proud to be MDF.  Their action can reflect back on MDF.

This is also the rank of those that raid. As a raider you are expected to be prepared for the fight. That requires learning the fights from either websites or fellow guild mates BEFORE the raid, bring the proper food and flasks, and most important a positive attitude. Knight can also be raid leaders and should be encouraged by the Officers.

We believe knights should be expected to help their fellow member if/when possible. That doesn't mean go out of your way if you are busy doing something. But it does mean to say something in guild chat if you are busy instead of letting people be greeted with dead silence. But questions about raiding, questings, etc do happen in guild chat.

All Knights are allowed Alt in the guild. HOWEVER all alt’s are considered before Footman but not before Knights and Squire’s  when inviting to raid.  This is because the other 2 are MAIN Character in the guild.  Knights are required to place a note on their  guild tab reflecting what alts are yours and who your main is. It is asked that All Knights are expected to keep and do not change to their alt as Main until at least 1-2mths is server to the  guild. By which time please contact an officer of wanting to change.

Squire
-Has shown a greater interest in raiding, but has been in the guild less then 30 days. Another would be they do not have the gear from heroic to survive in raids, or has returned from sabbatical.  Raid invites for this rank will be mainly on the raid leader’s decision at that time.

Footman -These are people in guild that are.
A) Want to raid. But due to life and/or situations they are unable to make it to raids at all.
B) Those that have just joined the guild and do not have the proper gear to raid just yet.

Alt- KNIGHTS ONLY. We say this because this will give us more flexibility for raids. Plus less to keep track of on people. If there is alt it's more then likely linked to a raider. ALL ALT’S NEED TO BE NOTED TO WHOM THEY BELONG To. If they are not noted they should be removed regardless of level. A knight should be able to note and keep track of their toons in guild. LIMITATION of 3 Alts(Lvl 70 minimum)!

On Sabbatical - People that are unable to play for various reason (Military, Life issue, etc) but do not wish to leave MDF due to hopes of returning to play.

-it should be noted that even though they return from Sabbatical. There is no guarantee their raid spot will be there. In which case, all that return from sabbatical will be placed at squire status to reflect their desire to raid.

Nooblet - Friends of the guild. Just here to hang and chat for now.  Also long standing guild member that cannot raid for one reason or another but still comes on to chat.   This is also the rank received to a Claimed Alt or main after not being logged in for longer then  one month.

Any Rank other then On Sabbatical and Nooblet *WHEN NOTED* that has not been logged in over 2months will be removed from guild.

Raiding

Raids:

May Dragons Fly does 25 man raiding 3 times a week. Starting at 7-7:30 server, with a minimum of 3 hours given to raid time.  If you wish to raid please sign up on the in-game calendar before the day of the raid. We ask that all member bring the properly food/flask and most importantly a positive attitude. Again, please understand their can be various reason why you might not receive an invite for the raid. If you feel at any point you neglected or unjustly denied, contact the raid leader and/or officer privately to discuss the issue.

Add-ons:

Guild members will be required to use certain add-ons for raids.  Other add-ons may be mandated or highly suggested by officers or raid leaders.

Mandatory Add-ons:

Omen Threat Meter

Deadly Boss Mods
Pallypower (Paladins only)
SimpleMD (Hunters)

Loot

As we realise most do enjoy coming for the fun of the raid. We understand the gear is a viable part of raiding and progression.

All squire and knights are given a 1-100 roll. Once you win an item you are unable to roll again until two or more of the following are met:
1) You are the only one that can use the item.
 2) None can use it
3) Every one has won one a piece of gear.
If a dispute should arise about how an item was distributed, please contact an officer about it.  We ask that you please do not disrupt the raid over a dispute.

All Alt’s(including Alt spec) will roll 1-80. If an Alt(including alt spec) is requested to a raid by an officer and/or Raid leader, then roll is 1-100 for that raid.

Guild Bank

The purpose of the Guild bank is to provide a place where items received from members, raids and group can be stored and used for the guild.

Materials such as Enchanting, Epic Trade skills materials, and patters are placed in Tabs 4 thru 6. All items within those tab are used for guild members only upon request and approval of two officers. Gold is always most happily accepted. ^_-
